Dear diary,
Today, I feel like telling you about my first day of secondary school. So here goes, I still remember my first day of secondary school vividly as many fruitful events happened on that day. An excellent example is that of me meeting up with my current two best friends Marvin and Wei Siong and also I got to meet my teachers and new classmates.
During the initial stages of introductions, I was feeling quite nervous as I did not know what to expect and in addition to my nervousness, I did not like to talk to crowds of people! However, I did not have to worry so much as the introductions went smoothly without any hitches.
In any situation, there would be good points and there would also be bad points. The bad points of my first day of school were that I got a scolding from a student councilor as I did not ask for permission before washing my hands in the science lab. Even to this day I still can remember her face clearly. Now moving back to the good points. I think the most memorable thing that happened was that I found out that my primary school friend and classmate Zhi Kai had also chosen to come to Kent Ridge as we were on quite good terms in our primary school and as you can guess; when I first met him I was elated. Another significant event which occurred was that my current best friend was the first classmate who approached and befriended me and that really touched me deeply.
Putting these things aside, the other interesting things were that I got to meet my secondary one teacher’s who were quite compassionate and kind towards us. My class was 1E4 which turned out to be quite a wacky and fun-loving class in which I had many more memorable events to come. Well to wrap things up, I just would like to say that my first day of secondary school was quite an eye-opener and I was quite refreshed by this new experience.

I am a person who likes many types of food; however my favorite foods are the New York cheese cake. I simply love the New York cheese cake as it is just tantalizing to the taste buds and it seems to melt whenever i pop a slice into my mouth. In addition to the cheese cake, I also love dark chocolate as i am a person who likes chocolates with a high content of coca as i feel that all the other types of chocolate taste synthetic because the manufactures add alot of other ingredients which affect the taste of the chocolate. The best chocolate which i have ever tasted comes from a Japanese brand called e-Royce. The chocolate which it produces are simply heavenly as the chocolate would literally melt in your mouth whenever you consume a slice, the e-Royce brands of chocolate also come in hearty chunks as to satisfy any chocolate lovers cravings.

Dear Mrs. Yeo,
How have you been? Good I hope. It sure has been a long time since we last met. Lots of things have been going on for the past two weeks. Let me give you a slight insight as to what had happened. First off, we had a group of Shanghai students who came over for two weeks through an exchange programme. My buddy was huge! He was in fact a hundred and thirty kilos, can you imagine that!

The other significant event which occurred was the CIP event which took place on the 1st of February. It was a very meaningful event for me as it made me realize how important our family could be, as a lot of the old folks were very lonely and they lived in such horrible conditions! During the activity, we had to help clean and freshen the one-room flats and in addition, we had toput up New Year decorations. The members of my group consisted of Wai Leong and Wen Hao. Wai Leong was in charge of the decorations, Wen Hao the entertainment for the old lady. Myself? Well I was in charge of the gift hamper for the old folk. When we first stepped into the house for the first time, we were all shocked as I think that we all have never seen one-roomed flats before and in addition to that, the conditions of the flat was appalling! However, when we offered to clean up her house, she refused valiantly as she said that her son would help her to clean the flat in the evenings. So in the end, we had to stick to chatting to the old lady and putting up New Year decorations for her.

Well to sum things up, the CIP event and the Shanghai students coming over were both eye openers for me. I wish you a speedy recovery and a Happy Chinese New Year. Hoping that you can come back soon and teach!
Yours truly,
Benjyamin
